The symbol associated with Libra is the scales, representing the balance, equality and harmony that you seek in your self and your life. The scales were adopted by our judicial system to symbolize a balance of fairness in the law which is emphasized by 'blind justice' holding them. Here the scales weigh the heart (your lifes deeds), against the Feather of Truth. the Sun is counterbalanced by the moon, Water is counter balanced by fire & the Hawk is counter balanced by the dove. All is in equilibrium.
Libra is here represented by an andogynous female warrior, blinded by her helmet in her persuit of Justice. Many modern astrologers regard Libra as the most desirable of zodiacal types because it represents the zenith of the year, the high point of the seasons, when the harvest of all the hard work of the spring is reaped.
